Joe Beach Resort, Mahabalipuram is a sprawling beach-front property located about 50 km south of Chennai. Mahabalipuram is a well-known heritage town situated on a strip of land between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake. It is home to a series of beautiful temples dating back to the 7th century, built by the Pallava dynasty. Some of the temples are submerged in the sea, owing to centuries of sea erosion.
Joe Beach Resort is about 70 minutes drive away from Chennai on the East Coast Road. The resort has sprawling gardens, a sports-cum-recreation area, two swimming pools and restaurants. It has 5 conference halls that can accommodate between 30 to 175 persons. The resort also has an auditorium for large gatherings of up to 600.
Joe Beach Resort offers a wide range of AC and standard rooms to cater to all your requirements. Facilities include a kids play area, a mini zoo, outdoor court for badminton and volleyball. Besides private access to the beach, a gym is also available for the use of residents. The restaurant serves a wide variety of fare with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
The resort is a convenient stopover en route between the San Thome Basilica at Mylapore and the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health at Vailankanni. You can also visit the St John de Britto shrine at Oriyur which is about 122 km inland from Vailankanni.
