About Me

Having spent most of my fifty plus years in beautiful Mangalore, and being educated at St Aloysius, I could be considered the typical hard-boiled Mangalorean. Keeping pace with my super-athletic wife Sunita and our prank-a-minute boys, Stuart and Roger, gives me a disposition that's cheerful and a sense of humour that's plus sized. I love a good read, for nothing can substitute the pleasure of a well written book, except perhaps catching up with friends both old and young! I have a passion for history and get a thrill imagining how life happened in the past. Drop a line if we connect.

Beautiful Serene Basilica a Short drive from Mangalore
5.0

I visited this Basilica along with my family and parents. It is a nice smooth drive from Mangalore city - probably took us 30-35 mins from the heart of the city to get there. The Basilica is on a hill surrounded by well-maintained gardens and ample parking. It's visually unique and you notice that as soon as you see it appearing in the distance. Remember to visit both the main present church, the original church behind it and the rear area which has a miraculous statue, a holy water pond, and a nice gifts and souvenir shop. Enjoy your trip.

Beautiful Serene Church with low crowds and easy parking
5.0

Serene Cathedral in the back lane off Colaba Causeway. Very low crowd on Sunday mornings and so you should easily get parking. The place is quiet, beautiful and you can follow sunday mass with a lazy lunch as Cafe Mondegar or Leopold -both of which are must see landmarks. Colaba Causeway offers lots of trinket shopping.

Great Church – usually locked
5.0

Hi this is a great historic church in the Colaba bylanes. You will usually need to wait for the caretaker or be really lucky to find it open. Please enter or wait and then ensure you get to see the place.
